The Founder
Founded by Elsie Rogers an autistic advocate, author, and public speaker, this group is built on a deep understanding of the autism journey having raised her son Joshua, now an autistic adult to overcome personal challenges. Partnering with organizations like A2ndvoice, a leading autism charity in the UK.
Through peer support, advocacy, and community-driven initiatives, we aim to foster meaningful connections, provide valuable insights, and offer resources that empower both autistic individuals and their caregivers. Whether you are an autistic adult seeking support, a parent navigating the journey, or a professional looking to learn more, our group is a welcoming space for you.
Elsie Rogers's lived experience raising her son Joshua, provides a unique and deeply personal perspective on navigating life with autism.
Having transitioned from being nonverbal to a verbal adult, a self-taught pianist, and recently played as a keynote speaker in the USA, Elsie also is the author of Autistic: Leaping Over Walls While Living With Autism a best seller on Amazon in 2023, brings real-world insights that resonate with families facing similar challenges.
Elsie has also developed digital courses and is in the process of launching a course to provide practical strategies and compassionate guidance to empower parents and support their child’s unique journey.
Her work in advocacy, including her partnership with A2ndvoice, highlights the importance of representation in autism advocacy, especially within ethnic minority communities. By sharing her story at events such as MyGoal: Celebrating Excellence in Neurodiversity and promoting autism awareness through her book, Elsie continues to inspire and uplift others.
Through her extensive engagement in community-based initiatives, and training programs, such as the delivery of a Lifestyle Academy for Avante Care and Support, the largest charity in Kent, and Autism workshops, Elsie ensures that this self-help group is not just a support network, but a movement toward lasting change.
